Ros Curtis AM oversees all operations of St Margaret’s (K–12). In 2024, Ros received a Member of the Order of Australia General Division in the King’s Birthday Honours for her significant service to education and professional associations, and was recognised by the Queensland College of Teachers for Teaching and Leading Excellence with a TEACHX award. In 2025, she was awarded the inaugural International Coalition of Girls’ Schools Founders’ Leadership Award – a richly deserved honour celebrating her extraordinary impact on girls’ schools globally.

Principal
Across her 14-year tenure, Ros has demonstrated her deep commitment to extraordinary teaching, creative excellence and curriculum innovation, dramatically changing the school’s landscape. Enrolments have grown a staggering 80%, remarkable for one of Brisbane’s highest fee-paying girls’ schools, and Ros has led significant campus redevelopment, including a $20 million sports precinct (2020), a dedicated student wellbeing centre and a new cafeteria. In 2026, the sod will be turned on a new performing arts centre.
Ros is the definitive ‘educator’s educator’, evidenced by her innovative St Margaret’s Centre for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CeTLe). During her tenure, four deputies were mentored and became principals at other schools, with others rising through the leadership ranks at St Margaret’s and other independent schools.
