Paul Watson has held numerous senior leadership positions within both the WA Department of Education and Catholic Education Western Australia. He has a strong history of innovative practice and is a strong proponent of 21st Century Teaching and Learning Pedagogy to maximise engagement and provide students with the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to thrive as global citizens in today’s world. A highly proficient public speaker, he strongly advocates for significant educational transformation both to improve the day-to-day educational experience of students and enhance the pedagogical practice and operational and administrative efficiency of schools towards strengthening a sense of community and improving the work lifestyle balance of educators.

He strongly believes in the importance of engaging young minds through real-life learning experiences and equipping students with the skills and knowledge necessary for their future success. Romalina Rocca, BEd (TAS), MEd (MHRD), GradCert (RE), Mini-COGE UNSW, is Deputy Principal of Loreto Kirribilli and a teacher of Technological and Applied Studies. She has held many leadership positions at the school, including Head of Senior School, Director of Student Wellbeing and TAS Subject Coordinator, and has also authored several design and technology textbooks. As Deputy Principal, she is dedicated to creating a culture of growth and improvement, where everyone in the school community is inspired to embrace challenges and persevere in their pursuit of learning.

Emmanuel Catholic College strives to create and enable a variety of engaging learning opportunities that provide the necessary skills, knowledge and experiences for students to prosper as global citizens in the world. In doing so, we seek to inspire a passion for lifelong learning by meeting the individual needs of all students so that they may achieve their true potential. In acknowledging parents and caregivers as the first and most influential educators, and with its strong links to the local community and industry, the college provides students with opportunities to immerse themselves in an education centred around real life, informed by contemporary research and best practice.
Our staff are passionate and innovative educational practitioners, committed to engaging students in a meaningful and purposeful manner within a 21st century contemporary educational landscape. In undertaking a commitment to a highly contemporary educational philosophy, the college does not operate a traditional timetable but rather classes are run as a mixture of 100- and 50-minute learning blocks with an optional four-day week for Year 12 students (Emmanuel Flexi).
The Lakes College Culinary Club (TLCCC) started with a team of 12 students and has now expanded to over 30 members, showcasing its continued success through participation in college events and even catering for local community organisations. This program not only imparts valuable culinary skills but also teaches the significance of community service, fosters practical abilities and cultivates a professional work ethic.
Spanning ages 11 to 18, the Culinary Club challenges students to create elaborate six-course degustation dinners and manage large-scale catering for college gatherings. Chloe, a Year 7 student, praises the program for imparting essential life skills in an enjoyable way among friends. Likewise, Emily values the connections she forms despite the program’s demanding pace.
Under the guidance of Chef Joel, TLCCC contributes to the college’s ethos and the students’ personal growth. The program’s commitment to local ingredients and culinary adventures is evident as it expands to include barista training and Responsible Service of Alcohol certification. The program seamlessly merges science, art and food technology, promoting discipline and shared responsibility. TLCCC embodies a commitment to service, community engagement and student leadership, cementing its unique character and contribution to The Lakes College.

Bellbird Park State Secondary College (BPSSC) prides itself on providing an innovative and inclusive education experience for all learners.
