Leadership
Lisa Hueston is the much-loved Wellbeing Coordinator at Mooroopna Park Primary School. Her dedication and passion for improving the lives of students and their families is inspiring. Lisa coordinates our Wellbeing Program, which consists of a Healthy Food Program, Paediatric Clinics, Play Therapy, Speech Therapy, a Chaplain, Koorie Education Support, a School Hub and community support. Lisa liaises with community groups for donations and sponsorships and still makes time to speak to students and families who need support. If she isn’t delivering grocery hampers with our principal, she can be found dancing under the hay shed with our little MPPS dance crew.

Mooroopna Park Primary School is located 200km north of Melbourne in a low socio-economic area just outside Shepparton, Victoria. The school has an enrolment of 135 students and, with a school ICSEA value of 814, is in the top 3% of the most disadvantaged schools in Australia.
We believe it is important to support all students to be ready and able to learn to the best of their ability and have established a Wellbeing Program that has now been recognised twice as being the Best Student Wellbeing Program in Australia. Our Wellbeing Program includes a Chef, Speech Therapist, School Chaplain, Play Therapist, Koorie Education Support Officer, Paediatric Clinic, School Hub, Wellbeing Coordinator, before- and after-school care, our own school bus, and Education Support staff supporting students in all our classrooms. We also have visiting Allied Health staff consisting of a Social Worker, Psychologist and Occupational Therapists. A range of volunteers run reading programs, a Build a Bike Program and woodwork activities, and take care of our vegetable garden and school chooks.
A highlight of our Wellbeing Program is our Healthy Food Program with the Chef providing breakfast, morning and afternoon tea and a hot lunch each day to all of our students at no cost to families. We also provide food and grocery hampers each week to families in need, which are personally delivered by the School Principal and Wellbeing Coordinator.
