women who will revel in the challenges ahead of them.
Wenona also offers rich opportunities beyond the classroom. Through involvement in STEM, sports, debating, creative arts, leadership and service, girls discover their creativity, teamwork, work/life balance, and other life lessons they will take with them after graduating.
Wenona recognises that across the globe, skills in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics are considered the lifeblood of the future. Already, 75% of the fastest growing industries require STEM knowledge, while innovation and creative problem solving are recognised as key to tackling impending environmental, industrial and medical challenges. Wenona is committed to engaging students in STEM studies in interesting and motivating ways. Designed by staff, the STEM elective uniquely engages students in coding, computing and engineering. We also realise that women are substantially underrepresented in STEM subjects, particularly mathematics and engineering, and have been actively working to increase the number of students choosing these subjects when they consider their tertiary journey.
