Jakki comes to The Village School Gold Coast with diverse experience in all aspects of education administration and over 20 years of experience in private business.
As the Founding Business Manager of the Village School Gold Coast, one of Queensland's newest independent primary schools opening in July 2021, we have grown considerably from a cohort of nine enrolled children. Seeing an expediential growth of over 70% in enrolment numbers in 2022, we continue to grow, with a high school a viable option in our future.
Jakki is honoured to be nominated in the Australian Educations Awards, and to be part of a team of exceptional educators who encourage bravery, resilience, and who are committed to changing the face of learning.

Bianca has taught at numerous independent schools from Brisbane to the Gold Coast over the last 15 years after graduating from a Health Science and then a Postgraduate Education degree. She is a Mum to two daughters who are her motivation and inspiration; leading her to being part of the founding company The Village School Gold Coast Ltd. From here, and with the full support of the Board of Directors, Bianca worked to gain accreditation from the Non-State School Accreditation Board and opened The Village School Gold Coast on July 12, 2021 with nine enrolled students and her as a Teaching Principal. The 2022 education year began with 45 enrolled students in three classrooms, a humbling yet thrilling growth. Being awardees in the 2022 Australian Education Excellence Awards for Non-Government Primary School of the Year and Non-Government Primary School Principal of the Year after only being open for six months has been a career highlight to date. Bianca believes the focus of schools should be on increasing student’s autonomy and their personal well-being, which will filter through to their academic ability. She has her eyes on opening a high school in the next five to ten years.

The Village School Gold Coast uses an integrated approach to the National Australian Curriculum through project- and curiosity-based learning. This is achieved when a child's interests are engaged, exploration through play, asking of questions and encouragement to share findings with an authentic audience. We believe this process, where knowledge is co-constructed, is essential to a child's development and understanding of the world around them. The Village School is truly educating beyond the classroom walls; changing the face of learning.

The Village School Gold Coast is the newest and smallest independent primary school on the Gold Coast. It opened its doors in July 2021 to 9 students and currently has 45 students with waiting lists that extend to 2027. It is located in the middle of the bustling streets of Coolangatta and purposely has no dedicated green area. As a result, the whole school heads out for daily adventures into the surrounding community as part of its place-based learning. Here students and teachers play and learn on the beach, river, climb trees, go bouldering and rock-hopping. Pavement etiquette is practised, along with learning how to safely engage with the community, picking up rubbish and courageous risky play opportunities.
